My "How-to" Manual

     I'm going to tell you how to  drive a jet-ski. This could be very fun to do, but it can also be dangerous so I'm going to tell you everything you should do and how you could be safe. There are different types of jet-skis, but you should learn this for all of them except the older versions were you have to stand up. You need to do certain things when riding one of these if you want to be safe and to keep others safe. You also need to be very careful when you're the water with all the other boats; you really have to pay attention.

     Well after you put your jet-ski into the water you need to check a few things. For example, you need to see if there is oil and gas in the tanks. If there's not any, you should put some in there, but don't fill it up to the top. Filling the tanks to the top could cause some problems with your jet-ski. I know that from experience with mine. When you're done with make sure you try starting the jet-ski so you know it works and won't die out when you're on the water.

     The next thing you should do is check if you have all of your safety gear with you in case of an emergency. You need to make sure to have a life jacket or a properly fitted, U.S. Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD) for every person on the jet-ski. Next, securely attach the engine stop Lanyard to your wrist or PFD. Keep it attached at all times; if you should happen to fall of the PWC the engine will shut-off when the Lanyard releases the kill switch. Also be sure to have stored a fire extinguisher on-board, a whistle, a paddle and a small first-aid kit. You should also NEVER drink alcohol if you are going to ride a jet-ski.

     While you're operating a jet-ski you need to pay attention to watch where you're going and to watch out for other boats, jet-skis and people. Before you can drive it, you need to be at least 16 years old and the new law is all motorboat operators born on or after January 1st, 1989, must have completed a boating safety course approved by NASBLA* and New Mexico State Parks. After you push the start button, you should know that you have to use the throttle for you to turn it, if you don't push the throttle you're not going to go anywhere except strait. Also, when you're in a no wake zone you can't go faster than 10 mph. After that you can go as fast as you want, but just watch out for other people and boats in the water. You should also avoid shallow waters and places that you shouldn't go to because you could end up in a dangerous situation. Another thing you should pay attention to is the weather, it could change very quickly and it could be dangerous.

     When your done using your jet-ski take it back to the boating ramp or wherever you were when you put it in the water. Have somebody back up the vehicle so the trailer is in the water and slowly drive the jet-ski onto the trailer. After you get it on, strap everything back on so the jet-ski doesn't fall off or something when you're driving the vehicle. Also, make sure the lights work on the trailer and you're good to go. So be careful and have fun!!

     I chose these things because I like to try crazy things. I like taking risks in life. Some of these things aren't crazy things, but they are just things every girl wants to do in her life or just fun new things to try. I am a person who likes adventure and I want to travel to many places around the world. I'm a very picky eater, but I want to try at least some new foods from around the world.

     These things are important to me because I don't want to spend my whole life doing nothing. I want to live life to the fullest. When I'm way older I don't want to think I should have done that when I had the chance. I want to do things now before I'm very old and can't go out into the world to do these things. There are probably many people in the world that didn't get to do everything that they wanted to do in life. I think they might regret not doing the things they wanted to do when they were younger and I don't want that to happen to me.

     To accomplish them I plan to get a good job and save money so I can do the things I want. I will probably have to travel to do some of these things, which is a good thing because I want to travel anyway. Some of these things will probably be scary, but I'll have to push myself to do them. Maybe I could get a few friends to try these things with me. If not, then I'll just have to go by myself or maybe even meet some new people who enjoy the same interests as me. Either way I really want to try this stuff, it sounds so exciting.

     Well those are all the 25 things I want to do in my life. I really hope I could accomplish every single one of them. Maybe as I get older I will think of more fun, exciting things to add to my bucket list. The things on this list I want to accomplish the most are getting married to the person I want to be with forever and have kids, the other to things I want to accomplish are go to college and finish it so I can become a vet.

   The story I read on change.org was about the offshore oil drilling. I think it related to the movie we watched because the oil is killing our ocean and the animals that live in it. Just like in Avatar the humans try to take over the blue peoples world by tearing down their trees, especially the huge tree that they live in and the they prayed to. They didn't even care what they were doing to their planet and it seems like it's the same here on earth. The oil keeps coming out more and more each day and it doesn't seem like they are really trying to stop it.

     Just like in the movie "the people" are trying to stop the "sky people" from destroying their planet. We need more people like that on earth to come together and stop the oil spill in the ocean. I signed the petition for the story I read for Obama to stop drilling oil into the oceans completely and permanently. Hopefully more people in this world will do the same and stop killing our mother earth. The blue people in Avatar care about their planet and its strange animals, they are so connected to their planet.

     If we were more connected to our mother earth then we probably wouldn't be killing her with all these disasters. All we are doing is killing our planet and ourselves. All the hard work that mother earth did to put all this life and us humans are just destroying it one day at a time. We shouldn't destroy our planet we should be helping it, making it a better place to live for the future generations. If we keep doing everything that were doing now, everything and everyone will be dead on this planet in a few years.

     In Avatar "the people" thank their planet when they take the life of a animal, we don't even do that. We kill so many animals for food and other things like fur everyday. We also kill them by ruining their habitat, we tear down their homes and nobody even cares except a few people on this earth. Maybe if we lived like the blue people we would all be happier and have better lives and we would also be more connected to our beautiful planet. Some people on this earth don't even care about anything but their business and all the money they are making off the earth resources.

     One day all the resources are going to be gone and those certain businesses are going to be bankrupted. They shouldn't even be using the resources anymore. We are advanced enough to power the earth with natural resources like wind, sun and water. Well only if those people stop polluting the water with all the oil. Everybody should be thankful for this planet and be thankful they are living on it, but instead all we are doing is destroying everything. Hopefully in the future the humans will be more careful and take better care of this planet.

My Scary Story

     Well when I was a little girl I used to have this friend named Emily, she was like my best friend. We did everything together. She was with me all the time and she even lived with me sometimes. Everybody always thought she was my imaginary friend because they could never see her. I could see her perfectly, she was real I knew she was a real person. Anyways I didn't care because Emily was always there for me when everybody else wasn't. When I started getting older I didn't really want to play with her anymore and she started getting mad at me. She went away for awhile but when she came back she was really evil, well not to me but to everybody else.

     Whenever she was with me I always got into trouble. Nobody ever believed me it was her, they would tell me stop making up stories Emily is not real she was just your imaginary friend. So I would get mad at Emily for that, but she never cared. As I got older I always wondered why I could still see her but nobody else could. I went to the library and looked up people that were already dead, I typed her name in and to my surprise there was her picture. I started reading about her life, she was born in 1925 and she died at the house I live in now. There was a fire and Emily couldn't get out so she burned alive. All of this information was freaking me out I didn't know what to do.

     When I was walking home from the library Emily showed up walking next to me. I didn't know where she came from but I was so scared. Emily said "I know what you did" and I said "about what??", she said "you read about my life and you NEVER should of did that". I didn't know what to say so I just stayed quiet, Emily yelled "why did you do that?", I said "I-I-I don't know". I was crying hysterically and the last thing she told me was "if you ever say or show anybody anything I will come back and kill you". I was terrified so I ran home and as soon as I walked in my mom was there asking "whats wrong" but I just shook my head and said "nothing I just tripped on a rock and fell but don't worry mom I'm alright".

     Later that night I was just laying on my bed thinking about what happened earlier that day. When I looked up I saw Emily standing at the end of my bed just staring at me with this evil looking face that just terrified me. I told her "stop looking at me like that your creeping me out. Why are you here anyways?" she said "don't worry about it okay.....did you tell anybody?", I said "no okay I'm not going to tell anybody just leave me alone". She finally left and I never saw Emily again.

Why Am I Here?

     I'm not really sure why I'm here on this earth, it can be for many different reasons. Now that I think about it I'm really starting to wonder why I'm here. Why did god decide to make me? Am I here for a certain reason? Am I supposed to do something special in this world or am I here for no reason? I have so many questions, but will they ever be answered. I'll just have to go on with my life and find out.

     I have a voice in the world and I should use it to save this world. One person can make a big change, maybe god made me that person. I wish that god would tell me why I'm here it would probably make life so much easier. I could be here on this earth to change the world and make it better for all the next generations. Maybe I'm here to stop the oil spill that's happening now in the gulf of Mexico. To stop that oil spill I signed a few petitions, hopefully that will help a lot. All the people on this planet that care are probably here for a reason. God could have put them here to help the earth with all the disasters that are happening right now.

     Honestly I'm not really sure what my gifts are, I never really thought about it. I guess right now is a good time to think about my gifts. Well I'm a really nice person, I care about this planet, and animals. I'm a caring person, I'm a very shy person, but God made me that way so I can't complain about it. I can draw well, only if I have a picture to look at. I'm not sure what other gifts I have. I will probably figure that out as I get older and wiser. God made me on this earth for some reason, I can't just be here for nothing.

     I think what makes me special and unique is that I'm not like everybody else. I like to do my own thing and I don't let other people pressure into doing something I don't want to do. I have a great personality and if others don't like it or like me then that's their problem. I'm also smart and beautiful in my own way, everybody is like that. That's how god made us, he wanted everybody to be different not the same. If everybody on this earth looked the same and had the same kind of personality then, you couldn't tell anybody apart and everything would be boring.

     To make this earth a better place I want to change the way I do things. I want to start recycling and using natural resources. Not those fossil fuels, all they do is destroy our planet and its species. I also want to sign more petitions to help this planet because those could actually change the way people do things and they can save this planet before it's too late.
